There are certain products Costco is known for -- its famous baked goods, its delicious Kirkland snack mixes, and its famous $1.50 hot dog and soda combo.
Costco's hot dog combo price hasn't changed since the meal deal was introduced decades ago. And there's a reason for that.
Costco uses its hot dog meal as a way to attract new members and retain current members. And if you're thinking, "nobody's going to join Costco just for a cheap hot dog," you may be wrong. Fans are constantly talking up the hot dog meal as the greatest deal ever.
As one Reddit user put it, "I mean they are just perfect. From the soft delicious bun. To the juicy 100% beef dog itself. I don't think I have ever had a better hotdog. Don't even get me started on the price. $1.50 for a massive hotdog and a drink is absolutely insane, and probably the best deal I will ever get."
Another said, "I couldn't agree more. It's the perfect hotdog to bun ratio and there's still room for extra toppings. The bun is soft and fresh. And the hotdog is really tasty. Delicious taste at an amazing value!"
Given the popularity of Costco's hot dog combo, you'd think the company would've perhaps capitalized on it by now, whether in the form of Kirkland-flavored hot dog chips or hog dog-inspired seasoning.
But the famous combo did inspire a new concoction recently -- a bottle of bourdon that flew off Costco's shelves before members could get their hands on it.

The bottle, called I Got That Dog in Me, is a Rare Character Whiskey Co single-barrel bourbon. And it features none other than Costco's famous hot dog and soda combo on its label.
The bottle was released at a Washington, D.C. area store and priced at $85.99.
Rare Character is known for high-proof, limited-release bourbons and rye. I Got That Dog in Me is 126.1 proof and aged 11 years and four months.

When you take a drink that's as popular as bourbon and a meal deal that's as beloved as Costco's hot dog and soda combo, you're apt to drum up interest. And not surprisingly, I Got That Dog in Me quickly garnered attention from members -- so much so that it flew off the shelves, selling out completely in less than a day.
"It was one single barrel only and sold out in hours," Rare Character co-founder Pete Nevenglosky told Fox News.
Since then, fans have been clamoring for the item and even took to Reddit to try to secure it.
"Please buy it and send it to me!!" one user said.
"I would pay a lot of money to have this bottle!" said another.
Fox News says that there's so much demand for the bourbon that resale offers are already reaching the $500 to $1,000 mark. Fans who did manage to get their hands on the bourbon described it as oaky with notes of marshmallow and spice.
Unfortunately, snagging a bottle of I Got That Dog in Me may be a harder thing than expected.
More Retail:
As Nevenglosky told Fox, "This particular bottle was for the D.C. team only, though we have done some bottlings for the L.A. region of Costco also."
However, he reassured fans, "Future plans are in the works to expand."
