
Memorial Day, which always falls on the last Monday in May, is a day when America salutes its fallen heroes, honoring service members who died in service to their country.
Kroger is just one of a handful of businesses that goes beyond offering sales on hot dogs, burgers and beer.
The company also offers all military members, both active duty and veterans, a 10% discount on purchases storewide. Of course, there are exclusions: The discount doesn't apply to items like alcohol, tobacco, and lottery tickets, a Kroger customer service agent told TheStreet.
But still, with the high cost of groceries these days, any deal is welcome.

Today is the day to shop for veterans who want a storewide discount.
And even if you're not a veteran, Kroger still has plenty of its beloved meal deals and other discounts in honor of Memorial Day.

Last week, on May 19, Axios released its annual Axios Harris Poll 100 "reputation rankings" list. Kroger came in at #27, a big jump from 2025 when the company ranked 35.
